Experiences, Section 18

The next day I was directed to leave the car and walk west into the desert. I was to follow the beautiful smell of the Savior, and after walking several hours, the thought I had was to walk all day and night without stopping. I was already so tired, that the only way I could do this was to think one more step, and not think ahead.

All during this walk, I felt little things going through me, entering my right side and going out my left side. My thought was, both the Savior and the Devil were there getting a harvest of something needed in creation. And I was also under the work of keeping it going out my left side, believing Christ was calmly helping me.

Towards evening, I felt a power come right above my head as I was still walking. It was as though I had a set of earphones to a radio, listening to live air, like one hears when the power is turned on before any programming comes on, just live air one can hear.

I knew the Savior was right about me directing me. The sun was setting, and it looked like a big, orange ball. And I thought, this has been timed to give the sun some energy from the earth it has to have, or it will continue to lose energy. I would walk four steps and blow towards the sun, and it seemed as though my breath carried there.

I kept walking up a little road there end back down again each four steps blowing into the sun. The blow had to be each time as I stepped on my right foot; and when I raised and blew on the left, I felt I wasn't doing it right, and tried to make it exact. The blow on the right step, I believed at that time without any doubt was the sun.

I thought that if I didn't do it right, the sun wouldn't get what it needed and it, the earth, and all the planets connected with the earth would go down, and eventually dissolve. The sun gave each planet something, and had to have something back from each planet, such as I was a part of, that it was now the earth's turn to be harvested.

As the sun went down, and darkness arrived. it became cold and as I was without a coat, I started shaking with cold. I knelt down and prayed a prayer with a list of names that I had prayed over and over for weeks, including the Indian Lamanites, the Jews, and all the house of Israel. As I finished my prayer, and stood up, the power air sound in my ear was turned up like one hears on a radio when someone is about to break the silence and speak.

A man's voice sounding very natural, said. "Now do you want to say your prayers?" I prayed the same prayer again. I felt like my voice was being carried through to a room and being recorded. I closed my prayer, asking for some way to make a fire to get warm, but received no answer.

I walked a little way and prayed again, pleading for deliverance from the cold, when a strange smoky smell came, which I thought was the devil. I immediately quit praying and felt I had to endure, for if I continued asking for the fire, the devil would win over me.

So I walked awhile to some sagebrush and rocks, and though dead tired, pulled up some sagebrush and built a rock wall against the cold north wind, and then covered myself with the sagebrush, trying to get some warmth. I thought I would stay there the night. but had hardly laid down after all my strenuous exertions than I prayed my same prayer again.

Silently in my thoughts, I felt some strength come, and had the thought to get up and walk all night until you reach the highway. During the night I saw a shooting star and was told to follow that star, to which I changed my direction to follow the way it had gone. If I hadn't, I would have walked away from the highway, and no one probably would have found me.

During the ordeal, I felt a spiritual power from the Lamanites helping me, represented by a good smell occasionally to strengthen me.
